Another reason why the TDPRI is SO great
Robbie Wallace - custom pedal manufacturer and excellent human being. Thanks so much, Robbie, for your kindness and generous support of my little old middle school guitar program. I can't wait to hook my kids up to your gift and listen to them wail!
I'm so grateful to all of you who, over the years, have contributed toward helping me get my dream to become a reality. I have had the guilty pleasure of watching and listening, first hand, to my all of my students as play the tarnation out of all the guitars, amps, strings, picks, and pedals that you've sent our way. The gift of music is one of the finest things we can all share, whether it's playing it for others, teaching it, or sharing it, in whatever way. Mr. Wallace is just the lastest in a long line of wonderful TDPRIers who have continued to bless us with gifts that keep on giving. Today, I had the priviledge of introducing James Burton (we're playing "Oh, Pretty Woman" and I showed a snippet of "Roy Orbison Black and White", on which Burton rips) and Danny Gatton (via an old Austin City Limits tape) to my middle schoolers. I couldn't do anything more than smile as they scurried to find their pens and pencils, asking me to spell Gatton's name and ask my recommendation of which of his cds they should get. My favorite quote, "He makes it look so easy, like he's not even trying!". Today was a great day. Thanks, Robbie! (and thanks, Roy, James, and Danny, too). Happy Holidays, all! |

Proud to call him my friend
And even prouder to have launched his career as a pedal manufacturer. Sorry Robbie, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Robbie and I have never met, but we seldom go more than a couple weeks without chatting on the phone. He's bright, friendly, and funny, made even funnier by that outrrrrrrageous accent he has. John, I've talked with so many others on this board over the last few years who are so impressed with what you're doing. One man CAN make a difference. Do me a favor; drop me a personal email when you have time to let me know what sorts of things you might be looking for at the present time. Sadly I lost alot of my "surplus" stuff in last year's fire, but I may still have some things you're looking for. I hope I do anyway. Thanks for the day-brightener John. Always a pleasure. |

Funny thing though, anytime I talk on the phone to sales people, vendors, service reps, etc. who are from east of the Mississippi they always ask at some point..."let me guess...your from Texas!" And Mike is right.....he pretty much inspired me to take on the whole pedal maker routine! Thanks John and Mike for the kind words! take care....YA'LL Robbie
