Roadrunner theme song: a Telecaster?

My kids are old enough to enjoy this show and it's a real flashback for me to watch it with them.

But I've been wondering about this for a while now: is the guitar in the theme song a Telecaster? If so, does anyone know who played it? Does anyone here cover it?

Beep-Beep!

my vote would be it was Tommy Tedesco, given the era of the cartoon.

also I reckon definitely a Fender if not a Telecaster specifically.

Man, that brings back memories! My Dad and my brother and I watched that together every Saturday morning (I can't for the life of me remember what Mom or my sisters were doing!). The Saturday after I had my tonsils out, I would laugh and then cry because it still hurt to laugh...

I sure do miss being a kid!

Sigh...

I remember reading about that in Tony Bacon's Telecaster book.
It is a Telecaster but I cannot remember who the artist was.
Anyone have a copy of Bacon's book to look it up?

I'm pretty certain it wasn't James Burton, but was definitely someone of similar talent and notoriety.

That clip brought back a lot of smiles!!!

I love Looney Tunes & especially Road Runner physics - he's in hiw own universe there!

Anyhow I'll have to look for the info later today.

Cheers

Carl Stalling was the man! Back in the 90s they released a couple of CDs called The Carl Stalling Project - or something similar. That'll take you back to those Saturday mornings.
