pre-69 tele, where to look!??!
Heya,
Havent posted on here for a while but ive come into some money and want to get myself a nice old tele to play and invest in till i finish uni in 6 years time. Just wondered if; A) any of you have one to sell and B) where should i look in the states/europe to buy? Im after original electronics and reversible mods, i dont mind refinishes/refrets if theyre done well. Cheers :) ps, soz if this should be in swap meet, wasnt sure as its a mixed post!?

I see thousands of them at the Guitar Shows I go to each year, here in Philly. Sometimes its in Northern NJ, one was in Wilmington another in Reading, PA. But I've never seen more vintage Teles in one place in my life! The thing I like about the shows, is that there are hundreds of vendors and it does tend to moderate the pricing quite a bit. But, check in your town, or somewhere nearby (I think there's one in London). But, my guess is that the supply's probably greater in the US, as well as the currency probably being more in your favor, buying in the US.

Thanks for the replies, chicago muscial exhchange are top my list atm, might fly over in a couple of weeks and try some out to decide :)
Theres a couple here but the prices are so far above the states that anything pre-65 is out of my range here!!! Chances are ill get a late 60s tele anyway as im after a blonde/maple preferably so theres more of them in that era. Cant decide if i should wait (a fair while!!!) and try and save for a 60s strat though as itd probably be a better investment :\
