This is a Fender Squire Telecaster which I am considering purchasing:
![]() ![]() Can anyone help me with the year and model, approximate value? I believe it was made in Korea, it appeals to me. Thanks a million! |

They sold new in the US for the same price as the Standard Series Standard Tele, $200. The most I've gotten for my money in a Squier Standard Tele was $130 (plus shipping) for a 2003 3TS in mint condition. The worst I've done I think was pushing around $250 for a 1999 maple fretboard 3TS with quite a bit of wear but possibly my best playing/sounding Squier Tele. I believe these were in production from 2000 through 2006. I've seen them with year codes as far back as 2000, and they were in the Frontline catalog in 2006 (the last year for Frontline). Maybe there are enough of these out there used that the going price ranges about the same as the Standard model with two single coils. |

Quite honestly, the Standard Series are pretty good guitars for the $$$. |

Definitely a Squier Standard Fat Tele. The last year of production was 2007 as they have been discontinued since there is a Squier Vintage Modified Tele with a similar PU configuration. I know 2007 is the last year of production because I got 1 of my 3 Fat Teles as a closeout from MF for $130 about a year ago, 1st 2 digits of serial # is 07. Before being a closeout item, I believe they were being sold brand new for around $199-$229.

Looks like the Korean headstock to me, notice it is much slender than it should be. I also have a korean made squier neck, wich i find nice, apart from the headstock not being the "correct" shape. Darn that really annoys me!
