The Fender Telecaster by A. R. Duchossoir would probably be the best place to start. Then Six Decades of the Fender Telecaster by Tony Bacon.

For some Tele history, the top two:http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_b?...ster&x=15&y=16

For some stuff on the players, try Arlen's book.

For a detailed view of the early Teles, you have to have this masterpiece:http://www.theblackguardbook.com/

+1 on the blackguard book. I don't own it, but I've heard wonderful things. Nacho is a true Tele lover.

Ownership of those three books should be a mandatory part of membership on this board.

If you were to buy just one, this should be it.

Yeah the one but Duchossoir is good and not too pricey...I'm ashamed to admit it's the only Tele book I have though.

Whew, glad I've got all 3 so I can have full membership! Each one of these books is a "must have" for any serious (or casual) Tele player!
