72 Thinline w/Bigsby - bridge problems?
Hi folks,
Having sought some advice last year, and ended up with a cracking MIM 60's tele on the back of it, i'm hoping that you kind people might be able to help me out again... I'm a fender lover through-and-through, but, being the only guitarist in my band (which plays country-ish, lemonheads/pavement/teenage fanclub style), i'm finding i need a bit more oomph... so, i'm thinking perhaps a 72 thinline, probably japanese. My main question concerns the bridge... it looks suspiciously like the kind of thing you see on jags/jazzmasters, which cost me about £150 to put right on my jag... and here in scotland, the guitar's gonna cost about £900 ($1800) in the first place. so... will the bridge have the same obvious jaguar problems? I wouldn't really mind spending extra to sort it out, so long as it can definitely be done. here's some pics of what i'm after: http://www.mijfenders.com/Gallery/TL...lery/index.htm I'd be interested to know your opinions, or even if it might be more cost-effective to get a MIM and get a bigsby fitted. Thanks, jody. |

I'm not familiar with the Jaguar bridge problem you mentioned. Perhaps you could elaborate. This looks like the typical bridge used with the B-5 Bigsby.

you're right, that is the same bridge as is typically used in jags and jazzmasters. i had alot of problems with my mij jazzmaster bridge as well, but i alleviated the problems by using thread-lok on the saddle adjustment screws.
