This is either one of the coolest Tele's EVER.....
...or one of the worst.
The traditionalist in me hates it, but the trailer trash part of me loves it. My head is about to explode. But I'm leaning toward "coolest"....

Cool guitar, great, underrated player and a perfect example of not being afraid to modify one's instrument to suit one's needs. You just can't be too precious about this stuff-life's too short!

I think its just an extra tone/vol/blend/who knows knob, don't see any string attached to it anything to suggest E bender?
Looks like a beast though, well used. Anyone know about the actual guitar specifics? Looks pretty old, maybe a 50s? I like it, wouldn't do it to my own Tele but its good to see a guitar that obviously fits its users needs and has been well loved and used.

Also, the "knob / bender" in question matches exactly to the size and finish of the other knobs. Oh...and it it were a bender, the knob/bender unit in question would need to be higher on the guitar...it looks like the E string would come off the bridge WAY out of line if it were a bender. I would also add that the strap button appears to be a normal one thats screwed directly to the body...not "floated" on a piece of metal. Finally, it also looks like theres a string in the high E ferrule. |
