MIghtyMIte neck update

Not sure if you all remember the problem neck I had from MightyMite here a few months back

http://www.tdpri.com/forum/telecaste...eal-happy.html

Just thought I would update you all on the situation. At the end of the last thread, everything looked settled.
There was an e-mail posted here

Quote:
Please do not panic, If your dealer refuses to replace the neck
Mighty Mite will replace it and I will suspend his account for 30 days to make a point

Yours In Tone,
Jeff Kylloe
Saying that they would replace it and I was told by Jeff Kylloe himself on the phone to return them to him directly(gave me a code to put on the package so he would know what it was)

That was Feb 14th.The package was shipped 2 days later, which also included another MM neck I had here that had a small twist in it.Funny thing is,on that exact same shelf sat 2 original Fender tele necks,2 Allparts necks and a cheap Asian made neck, none of which had moved at all and were still perfectly straight.
The beginning of April come and I had not heard a single peep or received anything so I decided to send an e-mail to find out some information.Nothing.I sent another, nothing.I sent an e-mail to another address I had for mr Kylloe and still nothing. Finally on Apr 3rd I received this

Quote:
Hello Marty,

I am not in the office today but I am almost positive your account was credited.

We are out of stock on both necks and have a new load coming next week :>)

I will call you tomorrow

Jeff
Mighty Mite
The thing that struck me was that I don't have a account with MM but thought maybe they made one up for me

Well I waited for the call, nothing. After several more e-mails with no response I decided to go over to the MM website and found they had a forum.

I decided to register there and put up a post telling my story.

http://mightymite.axegrinder.com/cgi...208911234/s-0/

That evening I received an email from the guy that runs the MM forum. He has nothing to do with the sales of their products but told me he would do what he could to see if he could get some action. He gave me a call on my cell with some news.
IT seems that he was told I had to get my returns from the merchant I bought them from as I don't have an account with MM and they do not sell direct to the consumer, only to distributors??????
Hmmm, now what, thought my account was credited??
Anyway,that was 2 days ago,no more news,no emails,calls nothing.
Looks like I may be out 2 necks.

That sucks Marty. I hope they get it straightened out for you. I think you should get a refund and two new necks.

I'm sure he'd do it! I've been in their parking lot, but never inside (never bought anything either).

Man, that sucks. I was considering buying a MM neck just to check it out, but now I think I'll just buy my usual Allparts neck.

Sorry to hear about the issue Marty.

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble Marty over this thing with Mighty Mite.

I'm also feeling sorry for MM because I think alot of the time, what gets discussed on this forum holds alot of sway. Alot of opinions are trusted ones here and if this thing gets ugly, they could lose more than one customer!

I bought a MM neck last year for a project. I wouldn't say I was upset about what I received......, it just wasn't what I expected from them.

So, I won't be buying any more MM necks down the track.

Mighty Mite just lost a potential customer.

When this type of problem occurs, I vote with my wallet.
There are several other businesses I won't do business with.

Frys
Motorloa
Mighty Mite

Quote:
Hello Marty,

This morning I spoke with Jeff and he looked into the company spam folder and found your emails for some reason were getting filtered into there. Has he written to you?

Best Regards,
Hmmm, funny how I got an emal saying he was going to call me if they were going to his spam folder

But I did receive this just now

Quote:
Hello Marty,

We are working on your issue and will have this resolved by next week

Thanks,
Jeff / Mighty Mite
I guess we will wait and see

Damn spam folders. Yeah, thats the ticket...Mighty Mite take care of it or NOT...You shouldn't have to wait till next week, you've waited 3 months already. They need to take care of you now and sort their end out later. That is what good customer service would do.

Yup, and the check is in the mail.

On the upside, you have heard from them...and that is a whole better place than you were yesterday at this time.

info on MM necks

I just removed the nuts on two MM necks ( plastic looked kinda cheapo) and they were actually hollowed out. The slots are not cut very deep either. They are what they are, a budget neck.

I think I'd take my chances with a squier neck from sleaze-bay IF I was looking for budget items.

Service aside, I was very displeased with the quality of the MM neck I purchased from one of their dealers. Sharp fret ends, uneven fret heights, crappy, poorly-cut nut, spotty finish. I realize Warmoth and AllParts are more expensive, but its worth it to not have all the problems. Good luck - I hope the factory provides better support than the dealers.

ya know, I should have snapped to this sooner. That jeff guy's last name is probably a DBA or screen name. If you read it, it is a mispelling of kilo (kylloe).
I say we burn a pile of MM necks in effigy.

I still gotta give my friends at www.musikraft.com the best of props for their superior quality of a neck, to exact Fender specs right out of the box it's shipped in. No fret sprout, level, nice finish or not finished(but sealed and ready for your finish), any neck profile you can describe..... gotta love it.
No headstock reshaping is necessary either....unlike some other brands mentioned here.
