Never in a thousand years would i buy from these a-holes. NEVER! If i worked there, and things got to this point and i became aware of it, i would cherry pick 2 of the best necks i could find, stuff them in a box and walk them to the post and send them my own self & scan the receipt in and e-mail it to the customer and do it on my lunch time or day off if i had to. At some point someone has to say, "I AM TAKING CARE OF THIS PERSONALLY FROM START TO FINISH. THESE NECKS GO OUT TODAY"

Thank You

Thanks for this thread. I'm just about to embark on another project and have been trolling e-bay and online shops for parts that I need. (I can assemble, wire and setup but actual woodworking is beyond my meager skills). Some of the parts I've been considering have been MMite but now there's no way I would touch them. Imagine having to do what Marty's doing from the other side of the world - no thanks. How hard can it be to replace 2 cheap faulty necks ? They sound like crooks and liars. Don't they realise how many members this forum has, not to mention people who aren't members but still read the posts ? The people are here because they are interested in Teles and a great number of them also build/assemble their own Partscasters. In short their customer/potential customer base. Geniuses !!??

I am sorry to hear about your guitar-neck-debacle. I hope somehow you get an acceptable neck replacement for your guitar.

I was about to order a neck from Stew-Mac, and saw in very small print in their catalog that their necks are manufactured by Mighty-Mite. It was an older catalog, so is this still correct? Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

Like Telefunk, I am on the other side of the world too, and don't need those kind of hassles. Although I am sure going through Stew Mac would be o.k., they seem to very professional at what they do.

Anyone here bought a neck recently from Stew-Mac???

aw, now you've used an oxymoron..... professional and mightymite TheBends is so right about properly manufactured.

Jeff & john, you might want to research what jeff said previously, in a post, to this very list. You two guys need to get your stories straight.

It's one of those sad situations where Jeff was either covering up then or covering up now....... only way to save face is to 'fess up, mightymite/Jeff. I know you won't, though. Y'all have now, shamelessly, shown your true colors to a major portion of your potential customer base.

Do y'all know how many people read this forum.? Do you also know that we stick together when one of our own is getting a raw deal?

Mighty might will NEVER see a dime of my money. I'd never even offer to work over a friends guitar or bass that has any Mighty Mite parts. There would probably be a big problem getting good customer service from them, as they have clearly, with no perception of impunity, exhibited in this debacle. I bet this is not a solo opinion, either.

I've seen enough.

Both these d-bags and their condescending attitudes. They had the balls to give you **** for making this exchange public on a forum that deals specifically with their products. Well it goes both ways a-hole. If you bent over backwards to make things right, it would been a good thing. I am always swayed positively by companies who take a negative and make it right. These idiots. Forget it. Even if they decided to make things right(which is questionable), they've got their heads so far up their own asses they can't figure out a way to successfully ship a neck from one place to another? And then they blame you.

There was ONE way to rectify the original problem. Overnight a replacement(or 2) with sincere appologies and demand to get a final outcome from you.

What did they do? The exact opposite. They were indefferent, incompetent, and just all around d-bags.

They will NEVER get a dollar from me and I hope that no one here gives 'em any either.

You have to earn business.

I found it hard to believe that StewMac, a reputable supplier of guitar parts and luthier supplies, would even offer necks from MM. Now...I only bought one MM neck, so maybe I shouldn't be too hard on them, but as a player for over 40 years, I have to say, I've never played a worse neck. This stuff is sub-Squier quality. Uneven frets, sharp ends protruding beyond the edge of the board, uneven finish, just poor quality. With the high quality from AllParts, at similar prices, I'm wondering why anyone would buy a neck from MightyMite. And, after reading this horror story, I hope it steers others to the many high-quality alternatives there are for Fender-spec necks. I've since become a loyal Warmoth customer. Sure...more expensive, but theirs are truly Custom Shop-level necks.

+1

My experience exactly!
If I'd have known how bad the quality was on their necks, I would have just bought a Squire neck instead......, and will most likely do so in future!

I think some comments here are becoming a little heated about Jeff and John. I agree that this whole situation has become completely out of control, with very little chance of either party coming out smiling at the end of it.

I think what will hurt MM most is the fact that they have lost a good chunk of potential customers not only now for the quality of their products, but now customer service aswell.

Hello Everyone!

This is Jeff with Mighty Mite and I thought I would chime in with the real story here just so everyone is clear on what the real deal is, LOL Geez there is even a guy up there willing to come here in hit me with a plank of wood LOL hahaha now that’s pretty funny.

The Story-
1. Marty called us and said hey, I have had these necks laying around for at least 3 months and I have no receipt to prove when I purchased them but can you just take my word for it because they are twisted.

2. I say okay, please send them to me and here is an RMA number and make sure your name is with the RMA number because that’s how we track your necks in the computer. Sure enough about a week later we get the necks but instead of the RMA with his name Marty, he uses a company name Prairie Guitars which does not match the RMA number so his necks sit in the warehouse until after about 2 weeks or so of him bashing us on message boards he finally calls us to find out what happened.

3. After doing some digging I find his necks and even though I know they are twisted from poor storage I agree to replace them so about 10 days ago we send him 2 brand new necks :>) Then the necks are returned back by UPS saying REFUSED BY RECPT So yesterday I send him 2 more brand new necks on this tracking number 1Z3952X46856100052 and please keep in mind that for the last 10 days he is still bashing us on message boards LOL and has not called me once to find out where his necks are.

Not many companies would just take someone’s word and replace a product under warranty without proof of purchase but ya know what, I felt bad for him and believed his story so I decided to help him out. Mighty Mite and I did everything we could to help him and I think we went above and beyond to make this right.

Hello Again

Quality Issues!

If you get a Mighty Mite neck and the fret edges are sharp, this is caused from storing the necks is a very dry place and when the moisture is released from the would it shrinks, so the fix for this is a fret end file that can be purchased from Stew Mac and it takes about 2 min to fix.

Hope that helps,

Jeff / Mighty Mite

Jeff...although I'm not a big MM neck fan, it's good to see that you've addressed his problem. That is reassurig to those considering
your products.

Well after reading the whole thread AGAIN....and i have a couple of MM necks that are great ....and i know a dozen or so more people that have them and they too are great ...im gonna call fault on BOTH sides......Marty shoulda had his receipt he didnt ,so Jeff did a cool thing ...hey i have been in bizness for over 20 years all kinds of monkeys come in with no receipt and want to exchange or refund ...sorry no receipt no exchange OR refund ...unless i know you just bought it!....Jeff didnt have that info....2nd marty sent back the necks with a wrong name on it....i have also worked in shipping receiving stuff like that gets put on a shelf until the customer calls.....so Jeff s story to me checks out....but guys lets face it for the Money these are a great buy ....yah marty had some trouble...but he also didnt take care of it the right way... the dealer should have taken care of it for him ......thats where he should have started....and everyone here knows we are playing with wood....it bends it breaks it accept and releases moisture....if they were indeed improperly stored ...thats what happens ...and i think that getting them replaced no matter how much time it took ....was lucky!

I don't think it's a case of not being honest, I think it's a case of a ton of little things not done correctly that add up too a huge mis understanding.

All I meant by any of my emails too Marty about bashing was the fact that instead of contacting me when the necks did not show up he would just post here and as you all know, I never saw any of this until today when I opened an account and I had just herd there was bashing from John who runs our web site :>)

What I mean is that Marty claims conflicting statements from you....that your statements indicate did not happen...If he was truthful in what he has stated..then there certainly was no "bashing" and he showed remarkable patience... To be honest..your sounding credible to me..and your story makes a lot of sense....I usually find..that in instances with two conflicting parties..the truth lies somewhere in the middle of the two versions!..anyways..hope this pans out positively..and soon!

Well, Jeff, maybe you can access what you said in your responses to the initial contact about giving Metalshop a suspension of their account for not replacing at their level. I'd remind you of your previous statements about them not warping just laying on the shelf.

You might also read the posting rules about advertising your product in a post to the telecaster forum. (NO SALES pitch or Product description by mfg/maker about their own product) I'm sure you will get a reminder from a mod, just wanted to give you a heads up.
The bashing, as you refer to it, IS merely statements of what the customer experienced in dealings with MM and you. My statements previous to this, stand, and I don't feel compelled to retract a single bit of them. Proof is in the postings from day One.

I'll never consider MM as a source for anything I'd want to own or recommend to friends.

Harmony Central posts do not persuade me in the least. That is one of the first things a reasonable and prudent thinking person recognizes about that site. Folks espousing greatness, simply 'cause they bought it....... they couldn't possibly be wrong.

1st Quality is not defined by anything I've seen from your company........ of course this is just one man's opinion...shared by many here.... Read the entire thread(s). y'all make cheap necks, etc. for the budget minded .

Nothing wrong with trying to fill a niche, just don't try to tell us you're # 1 at anything but subterfuge and circumlocution, which is evidenced in your own posts from beginning 'til now. Your #3 in this post is directly converse to your statement initially responding to Marty's complaint.

You may as well give it a rest and we'll see what Marty says about the new necks when and if they arrive. I'd also like to see the tracking # and refusal slip from the FIRST shipping.... I do not believe it exists... prove me wrong, please .
Again, the REAL DEAL Is: you dropped the ball and are now trying to do damage control...... so far I'm not convinced..... : I bet we'll see soon. Your snide approach of insinuating that we don't already have the real story is very much more proof of your lack of sincerity. Marty isno liar and I'd recommend you get a bigger wheelbarrow for all the dirt coming out of the deeper hole you are digging you and the Mighty Mite company into.... Just my opinion bud, but you may need to rethink the way you approach a list of folks that most likely know more about guitars, and it seems, human nature, than you. Good luck with your endeavors. prolly gonna need it.

Some good information

Quality:
The quality control is really done by Fender, We are required to send them necks here and there so they can check the quality and this is part of our Lic with them.
