Telecaster idea

How ya doin? I've been a gitfiddler for nearly 13 years, but I've never owned a Telecaster! Can you believe it? I've got Strats (which I love), a Les Paul, an SG, a Yamaha SG1000, but I never got around to getting a Tele! Which is odd, since I remember looking at pictures of butterscotch Tele's as a kid and thinking they looked really cool and that I wanted one!

But now I have an idea. I love modding my axes to how I like 'em, and putting project guitars together, but so far I've only done Strat projects (one of which I'm currently working on). But next I think I want to do a Tele, finally! Here's what I'm thinking: 1-piece swamp ash body from Guitar Mill (got my last Strat body from them, fine work!), a dark finish (not sure what colour, but slightly translucent), Seymour Duncan "antiquity" tele bridge pickup and the antiquity "surfer" Strat neck pickup, 3-piece brass bridge saddles, white pearloid scratchplate, and solid maple neck (maybe 52 reissue).

My guitar addiction just cant be satisfied! Seems I spend more time thinking about them than actually playing them these days!

it's probably only going to get worse, now that you've found this site.

You may want to check out www.musikraft.com for bodies and necks, too.

When you handle the product firsthand, after it comes in the freight truck, you can see and feel the superior quality. Fit /finish are superb.

here's the simple truth.. If ya like modding 'em (down here we call it foolin' 'round with 'er) you ain't gonna ever be happy till you build your own... so jump on in, the sawdust's fine.
