Current projects **pics**

Here's a couple things I've got going on while waiting for the material for the "Aloha-caster" to come in. The Tele is one piece pine from the classifieds and the neck is All Parts from fleaBay. Bridge is Wilkinson and PU's are those wonderful, great, amazing, super-duper, best thing since canned beer and girls,
Keystones from Mr. Lawrence. The color is from Rustoleum - I was trying to get close to the early James Burton color. I think this is a little more subdued but it it looks real good with the gold hardware. This is my first body from scratch and it has some minor warts but overall I'm pleased with it.

The banjo is something I made a few years ago and was never happy with the sound of the 3/4" rim, so I had a 5/8" made - hopefully it will sound a little better - it's a frailer, so it should sound a little 'tubby'. Neck is curly maple with ebony fretboard, about 2 oz of pearl, and a lot of hours cutting.

I love the banjo neck. Is it a real Vega model or your own design. Either way, very cool.

Nice Tele.

Nice Banjo.

Nice milk can.

Did you use the leftover paint on the Tele...or on the milk can?

Thanks for sharing!

The pearl pattern is (if I remember right) Paramount and a mixture of Vega and some made up.

Strange coincidence on the milk can color - got it from my mother-in-law many years ago. Guess I can use the leftover Tele paint to touch it up in case of a tragic accident at the dairy.
