My first guitar project
Hey,
I got my first guitar project done yesterday and figured I'd post some pics, and see what you thought about it. Is started out as an Avril Lavign Tele and came out as a Fat-o-caster with a push/pull tone knob for coil tapping. I wanted a tele that would do everything and thats what it does. Sorry about the bad quality. |

Nicely done! People here have talked about modding one of those out. I just don't get how she has a signature guitar.

What did you do about the input jack?
I have one of these, and I would like to do some of what you did!
Did you drill a hole from the side for a new input jack? I would love to hear the details of what you did to the electronics. Which pickups did you use? Thanks a million! |

I used this wiring diagram as a guide but I did use the push/pull on the tone knob instead of the volume knob http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...2hum_2pushpull I used GFS Crunchy PAF's. I am kindof a newbee but I think they coil tap quite nice and without much volume drop. They sound good in HB too. |

Super Newbie
Well, I am really a newbie! Awesome job!! What bridge did you use?
I have an Avril Lavigne, and I want a FatCaster!! Your build has really inspired me, opened up my eyes to lots of possibilities. How exactly did you route for the neck pickup? Thanks a million! |

I kinda want an Avril Lavigne Tele, too... bet it'd make a great quasi-Esquire with a Z90 bridge pickup. And I really like the neck inlay. Maybe if I stumble across one...

The bridge was an Ebay thing, but it works well. To rout the neck pup cavity I taped up the body and used a Mastercraft rotary tool. I think it's more powerful then a dremel but it's not as powerfull as a real router. It took me about 3 hours just to get the cavity routed, so I might buy a real router for my next one.

I bought my new Avril Lavigne Telecaster less than a month ago. I like it a lot, and I may mod it. But I have a new Allparts Maple Fat neck coming, and I would really like to get an unfinished Tele Body, hardware, pickups, etc. Perhaps I will be able to sell my Avril Lavigne, or trade it for parts...

Very Cool
I like the black-out treatment. Did you replace the bridge pick-up or just add the neck? How much does it weigh? Thanks for the pics!
