If you search through this or any other forum you will find tons of people who will rave about the SX guitars ... including me.

I have this one:

Strat sound for a hundred bucks. What is there not to like.

If I'm able to sell a couple of my guitars I plan on getting another SX this year.

I was looking at that one & the Blackie type one.
Do you happen to know if they will accomidate Fender or Squire necks?

Did I miss the neck radius and weight?
It is a very nice looking piece for a fast food price, would enjoy trying one.
Never had a 130.00 dollar bound tele!

That's cool. I will be interested to compare the pictures of them. And I hope you like yours as much as I do mine.

Randy ...... I have no problem with the Wilkinson dual loader bridge.

I was answering the following questions:

Quote:
Does anyone know if these come in other finishes? Also, do you thing Fender parts such as Bridges, Pickguards, etc. would be direct replacements?
Answers:

Other finishes ..............no.
Bridge replacement...........yes..........it's a Wilkinson dual loader bridge.
Pickguard replacement.......... maybe.

I was just noting that it is a Wilkinson dual loader ...... not that I recommend replacing it. I see how it could be misconstrued if taken out of context.

Yeah Jack, I got that. You are most helpful. That particular T-style comes only in that finish, but I have since been hipped to several other guitars from Rondo. I have already told (asked) my wife that a $100 guitar is a no-brainer. Sure its not a Fender CS, but I would hope that it would be at least a good modding platform. I did some searches on this site & according to a few other members, the SX bodies are compatible w/ Fender necks. The particular neck I want to use w/ one happens to be a Squire. So we shall see...

Thanks Jack! I've gotten so used to wilkinsons I kinda prefer them now...but I'm always willing to learn.... when I put my hipshot on my mij thinline I put a wilkinson on so that I could have the string through hole....

I'm kinda excited about my coming frigglecaster!

So I received an email from Kurt @ rondo. He said that he doubted that a fender neck would be a direct replacement for one of the SX models. Some here, however, say that they are. I guess there's only one way to find out...

I put one of these on my Xmas list, and my girlfriend bought it for me! Very nice looking, but the neck radius is so flat, it almost seems concave. I have removed the neck, and judging by the thickness of the top, it appears to be veneer. Also, the pattern on mine, both PG and the burl top, does not match the website photos, so I'd say it bona fide wood. It certainly looks nice and I love the orange they used on the back and sides. FWIW I like the headstock shape. O'll post a photo of the body as soon as I get it uploaded.

Yup. It does. And I guess I did get the one pictured on the sight. What's the chance in that? I think the radius of the neck is 12". But I am guessing. Yes it is flat in Fenders terms. But I like it. I'd prefer a 9" but it is OK. I do like it. It is thin and feels good.

I know we all like wood, but I don't know what's more impressive: The ability to make a wood veneered guitar for $130, or the ability to maintain the level of precision required to produce identical guitars... for $130! Either way, it's a darned impressive instrument for the money and Fender's gonna have to step up the value offered at Squier to keep competing.

A'yup.

I noticed that the figure on a couple of the different models on the Agile/Rondo website was identical. Fer example 2 different spalted maple top jobbers with the same spalting pattern.
I am also impressed by the lack of premium associated with true wood, over identical guitars with a solid finish. Yes, I know this isn't Gibson, but that's what I'm saying; Agile/Rondo want to charge as little as possible to try and generate the demand, all the more reason they'd have to pass any materials costs differential on to the customer. They gotta make a profit, right?

I hate to be a curmudgeon, but my playing is such, I gotta compensate by being as honest as I can manage, right down to my guitar. I couldn't get by with a reproduction finish, me.

Here's a pic of mine, clearly a much darker stain than the advertised one. I really was hoping for the lighter finish, I hope this color grows on me.
Also, really considering changing the neck pickup, it's muddy and not in a Waters good way.

WOW! That looks nothing like the others. I would email Kurt at Rondo. He would make it right. I am not sure I would keep that when I expected one that looked close to mine.

I agree about the neck pickup. The next pickup I buy will be for that.

All I will say Bill, is that all makes and brand names are welcome here in the house of TDPRI. There is but one Tele Style.

Actual Guitar

Having receieved thew actual guitar off the web site makes it a celebrity of sorts. I mean imagine if you could prove the Tele you had was the same one used in oh say the 1968 catalog? Wouldn't that be a hoot.

OT: What mods on the Epi head there? I have a stock Epi combo that sounds so good with an EQ pedal I really don't want to mess with the inards right now.

Dang I love Rondo guitars though I don't have one yet. I showed my wife (former interior designer) the different color tele's and told her if I was doing a music-themed room I'd get six different color Rondo tele's for less than $700 and put them on the walls. Cheap and talk about a focal point.

It's the Bitmo Trio mod. It's well worth the money. I had someone install it for me, I don't know electronics and didnt' think this would have been the best time to learn, especially with capacitors holding charges..

I did get a replacement and it's still much more red than the website pic. I'll hold onto this one, plus I just got a nice Jay Turser Deluxe tele... Getting a brass nut to replace the plastic one. Will post pics and review in a new thread.
Back to the program at hand...
And this is the 2nd Rondo guitar I own, and I plan on getting more. (don't tell the wife)

Those are some fine looking teles, I just ordered an SX before I found this website and I hope I am happy with it as you are yours. This Douglas may be next on the list if the SX works out. The Douglas grain pattern is awesome. I also notice it has a different bridge than the SX does, as I am new to this, I do not know the names but this bridge looks like it is a better one. Is the Douglas a string through the body? At the prices they are sold at it is hard to believe that they even work? I look forward to mine coming in the brown truck.

Yeah, I'm late on this one as I'm new to actually posting, but I do own an SX short scale (in
