Well it wasn't real tough.
I took a piece of OSB just big enough to cut a pickguard out of.I give it a nice coat of CA glue, let it dry and then took it to the bandsaw and cut the thinnest slice I dared to,leaving the CA side I then took it to the bench sander and smoothed it as much as I dared, then give that side a nice drink of CA.After that dried, back to the belt sander, more sanding. Then another coat of CA. Then I traced out the guard, cut it as close as I could on the band saw and then CA glued the edges. Then used a guard as a template and routered it to shape. After that I just used "Robosander" with a 150 pad and sanded it as smooth as I could.I might try to go a bit smoother, from the backside. It's still a bit thick yet

Thanks, Marty... very cool techniques. Makes me want my own shop, but I'd have to buy a new house to get one going
At the risk of repeating what others have said 100's of times already , I can't wait to see this thing finished ... |

Another nice thing about this water base stuff
Cured and ready to buff in 150hrs I wasn't quite sure if I had enough on this yet but wanted to give it a shot There are still a couple spots on the back that could use some, and one on the front, but what the hell.I might shoot it some more but just wanted to see how it looked This stuff buffs up pretty nice.Hard to find anything bad to say about this stuff This thing is super hard to take a picture of now. Here are a few.I will try some more in the daylight ![]() ![]()

It actually looks more like the ones taken with the flash. With all the different wood,it has a real deep, almost candied look,if you can get my drift
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have to admit,it looks pretty cool
