Dan, I was first to view the Blonde on the Emporium and hesitated like a fool.
(Wasanticipating the wife factor)

When I saw the Black Tele I said, "This is mine!" only to scroll down and see that the coast wasn't clear.

Most excellent work indeed!

thanks guys -

I liked that faded Sonic Blue so much I built another immediately. I'm just finishing it up this week and will post it for sale

Bluejuke - both that Blonde and Ol' Black went to good homes and are receiving ALOT of love. Why dont you work out the wife factor first and just have me make you one ?

And, are you selling any of these instruments, doing custom orders? And where is this "gear page"? Classifieds perhaps?

Dano you are making the best droolworthy guitars I have seen in a long long time. The degree of relicing on them is very authentic as is the fading.
Put your right hand over your shoulder and pat yourself on the back.

Dano, you're gonna have to give us all a lesson in relicing. I tried it recently and it is way harder that I thought.

I love that blonde one. All the relicing looks perfect; body wear, lacquer checking on the neck, hardware wear, everything.

Congrats.

I would say that of all the relic jobs I have seen so far here and in the stores, your tasteful relic work on the necks is peerless. Not overdone and very natural looking. Congrats on raising the bar for the Fender custom shop!

[quote=danocaster;1199946]hey guys -

I've been more active on The Gear Page lately but wanted to post a couple of my latest builds here ( mostly for Gear Page members ).. I'm doing these semi-full time now and am having a blast !! But seeing as the tele is my first love, I thought it only right to post a couple pics on the good old TDPRI !!!

thanks for looking !!

I was wondering if you can share some of your build process?
Do you cut your owen bodies and buy necks?
What about setups in house or do you have a guy?

This jazzmaster is perfect you realy went off the hook getting all the details
just so!

Did you mix this blue? well played with the under coat!

Thanks Martino

Yes, I mixed that blue. There's a MILLION different Lake Placids - the custom shop does them pretty light - the old ones are pretty green / and or faded - they are just all over the place - this was my take on a non-faded LPB

Bodies are all from USACG or GuitarMill - mostly GuitarMill

Necks are from GuitarMill / USACG / Guitar Mill / or Allparts. Once I heavily roll the edges, do the fretwork, etc.. - I put the Allparts up w/ the best of them - as long as you do all the finish yourself. But Allparts doesnt always have the options people want- so I use others as well

And I have a tech - who has been doing all my guitars for the last 15 yrs - set them up so they play VERY well IMHO. At least the way I like em to play :)

thanks for looking

Hi John -

that flamey neck is a Guitar Mill C shape / 9.5 radius / Dunlop 6105s

Really was a great feeling neck !!

Jaydawg - the neck for your Inca doesnt have that flame but it looks WAY better ( pics coming tomorrow )

Amazing work there man. Really nice, subtle, alluring almost!
I dug the Dakota and Sonic Blue finishes. I think I'm now GASing... and you might possibly have a PM (from me!) regarding a Sonic Blue body :-)

Cheers!
