I've been at the drawing board off and on for the last year,,,when I get inspired,,, working on something like this. Glenn Kaiser has one of my Resolectrics and wants me to build a battery powered system like this. It's just weird not having tubes..,,,

Boy those are lousy pictures. $250 is probably a good price for a MIM Standard these days. That one I think is mid-'90s. I can't make out the year date on the headstock. Hard to tell from the lousy pictures but I think I see what would be the toploader bridge. Hmmm....... good Bigsby candidate.
A simple way of making an in case amp would be to just take the guts out of a Pignose. Quote:

Looks like a load of home made garbage to me. Nothing surrounding the tiny speaker, speaker facing into the case etc. Would never even get a starting bid from me.
Edit ; just read what I posted, seems a bit strong. Should read...no, not for me !

My first guitar was a red sparkle, two p'up Silvertone Amp in Case. I got it for my 15th birthday in 1965. My Dad's company sold stuff to Sears so he could buy at the company employee outlet store in Atlanta. He got it for $80.
I still have the guitar but I have no idea what happened to the amp/case. Funny about growing old. I have really zero memory of what happened to the case after I went to college. But the guitar is sitting in the room across the hall from me right now. I was about to restring it the other day. |
