The one on the right is my 95 USA tele.
it was a really ugly green when I got it. A guy here in town stripped it down for me, then set it up like Brents. the middle knob is only a volume pot that rolls in and acts like an EQ. the two front pups are from an old strat I used to have. They are stock pups. I still plan to do work on that guitar. I still want to put a gibson mini up front and then a stack in the mid. The back pup is a Blades. I got it off of ebay. I thought it would sound like #$%..but it actually cuts really well, that and with my amp, I get a really good tele tone and a really good lead and rhythm to rock stuff that we play. the one on the left is the Valley Arts Brent Mason. Funny, seemed like everyone would want to go with the brent mason... is it just the valley arts name that people dont like or just it not being a true TELE? I will post pics of my 95 before I had it refinished. -Dave

Also he asked the question ,i just answered with an honest answer ,remeber play what you love ,i play my Tele's because NOTHING sounds like a Tele to ME....not because Brent plays one...i would need HIS fingers and feel ...not just a Guitar with his name on it |

Lenny B, please chill out, you are sounding like a bully. No one can get hold of Brent's "moneymaker" so the valley arts guitar is the closest thing out there. And so be it, it is not a Fender nor a Musicman, but is someone's new guitar they have a right to be excited about.
Mellecaster, I hope you get great enjoyment out of that guitar, let us know how you get on with it over time and what you think of the pick-ups. |

One of he right is ballzy. I love the customized look of both. Congrats. I love Blonde teles, but if it's not blonde it might as well be very different.

not offended at all....
The one on the right...well, it had a long creation. I had all the finish removed and then just rubbed TUNG oil on it. The sound is amazing even with the no name Blades pup in the back.
The other night was my first night at rehearsal with the new guitar. Everyone in the band said the same thing.." where did you get that ugly thing" ( accidently, the same thing my wife said when she saw it). So I told them the story on Brents guitar. I know its not a true tele. The clean tones are amazing...the tones you can get are just amazing. The hard part was getting a good smooth rock tone. I play two rigs...one of which is the Line 6 Vetta II. So I was able to play around with different amps and diffrent pedals and then EQ and was able to get a really good tone. It may not be a True telecaster, but I'm happy with the tones I was able to get out of it. Plus, I just wanted a back-up guitar to have on stage just incase I break a string..or have one I can tune down for alternate tunings for couple of songs. The blonde one, has a hip shot on it as well. As far as the postings above...I just stated that for all the Brent Mason fans here, seems like the guitar that he endorsed, doesnt get alot of...how should i say...respect? Just curious why. I love music and anything that can make a good tone. It doesnt have to look good, doesnt have to have a brand name, IF it sounds good...(and stays in tune) turn it up and jam away.
