Questions About Burstbucker Pro In Tele Neck

Hi,

So today I just ventured into the world of guitar, and tele, modification and I replaced the SCN single coil in my American Deluxe Tele neck with a Gibson Burstbucker Pro. However, as some of you may know, despite having a cavity routed for a humbucker, its not quite deep enough and the result is that the pickup sticks out too much.

I'm certain this is an often discussed topic but can anyone share some advice on the ease or difficulty of routing the cavity deeper? Should I just take it to a luthier or is this a pretty easy procedure? I got the electronics down and everything and now its just a mater of getting it to fit.

Finally, the BB Pro is also a lot louder than my SC single coil at the bridge now. Is there anything I can do to even this out or would I also need to replace that single coil with one that is a bit hotter as well?

In 2002 I had a 52RI Tele. In 2003 I took it to my guitar tech and he installed a burst bucker pro in the guitar, shielded the electronics and did a complete set up for me as I wanted it intonated and action raised.

The burstbucker Pro sounded great in the guitar and as far as I know it was no problem to install. But then my guitar Tech is the one and only Mike Lull who does all of Pearl Jams and just about every other Northwest guitar band's guitars. He's good, but he never mentioned any issues he faced with routing. You might call him for a definitive answer as he is very halpful to any inquiry like that. He's a guitar Tech God.
