Great Locking Strap....

Last week, I wrestled with whether or not to replace the strap buttons on my Tele with aftermarket strap locks, or just use a non-locking strap and be careful. After much searching I ordered, and love, this very nice arrangement.

This strap allows you to keep the vintage stuff on the guitar, and uses a super-cool lock and snap system that works perfectly. I am not selling anything, just helping out if others wanted a great set up without having to replace the stock stuff.

I was reading an issue of Guitar and Bass UK magazine recently, and some kid made an improvised straplock using the rubber washer from a Grolsch beer bottle. So I tried it, and it works! Although my Tele is pretty light.

I use schallers on all my kit, but had one of the ones you are talking about back in the 90's.

not sure if they have changed but the plastic locking part started to scratch the finish on my guitar. so went back to schallers.

cheers

I got this Neotech strap for my semi hollow. Web on one side and memory foam on the other and to top it off, it has a built in strap lock. Works very well on this guitar.

i use these on pretty much all my guitars, i still have a few guitars with schallers on them that i have had for alot longer. if you like to drink these come free with the bottles on grolsch, but for the non drinkers such as me i went the route of going to my local wine/beer maker supply shop and bought me 100 pack of these. it cost me like $7.49 USD for 100 pack. as long as you dont use an old really worn out strap or say a shoe lace for a strap, you can trust your guitar will not fall off with these.

Great strap, stealy

I've been using vintage straps for over 30 years and I guess I've been lucky.
Haven't dropped a guitar from strap related issues yet. I've gotten pretty wild sometimes through the years at gigs.

Still use them. I better keep my fingers crossed.

If I dug around I could probably find pictures of me from the late '80s playing gigs with Sure-Lock straps. I still use 'em, esp. my favorite wide leather one. My favorite Tele wears one constantly.

Never noted any finish marring on a Fender electric, but also not sure I'd care about marks on a Fender electric. Tried one for stage use on a nice flattop, it did mar that so I went back to a regular strap on those.

I'm kinda surprised at the durability of that plastic snap-lock piece, works for me.

I like DiMarzio cliplock straps because the whole strap and locking system is usually cheaper than buying a strap and strap locks, and with these straps, your guitar isn't going to ever come loose...

I'm a big fan of the grolsch strap locks myself.

I have them, and schalers....both work about the same.

The Grolsch are cheaper.... and more fun.

6 of my 8 guitars use these straps, and I have yet to notice any scratches, but then again, 5 of the 6 have a thick poly coat on them, so that may be the reason, and then the other guitar has a satin finish, but I don't play it as much, but so far no scratches. If you have a guitar with a heavy polished finished, I can for sure say no scratch worries. For other types of finishes, I could see that there may be risk for scratching, but can neither confirm nor deny that this occurs...
