Hot Country - Essential Listening & Learning Tools

I'm more of a rock/blues player but love the twangy hot country style. I wouldn't know where to start with regards to learning techniques and killers licks etc. Any suggestions where I could find some good tutorials (be it online, books, DVD etc) and also some recommendations on tunes/artists to check out? Thanks

Arlen Roths "Masters of the Telecaster". Enough material to keep you busy for a long time, and comes with a cd.

And, once you get there, look into Joe Dalton...a true master. Joe had a video out several years back, it may be available somewhere. Joe has a style of country jazz that has blown me away for years...close-voiced chords (which of course means some real finger stretching) with bends on individual strings within the chord formation...makes for some beautiful pedal steel sounds. And as far as all country styles, Joe is, in my opinion, about the best!
I've lost contact with him, but still remember all that he (and John Paul) taught me!
