everybody's got their favorite, but i like the Planet Waves. Monsters sound good, but no strain relief. none of the name brands are too shabby. many will tell you that any decent cable soldered securely on a decent jack will deliver good sound, and that's true. but for reliability on the job, look for something with strain relief that will withstand your bass player tripping over it and yanking it sideways!

I didn't think that high end cables made much of a difference until I got a couple of Mogami Gold cables for our mics - whoa nelly - big difference in gain and clarity.

Canare GS6 and Neutrik

Make my own using Canare GS6 cable and Neutrik plugs.

I recently used a Fender cable with the heat shrunk ends and was surprised at the difference. It was as if less signal was getting through the Fender cable.

The main thing I noticed when I started using Monster cables was that more details were apparent. It wasn't necessarily because higher frequencies were getting through, because my George L is brighter than the Monster. It seems that sounds of very short duration come through more noticeably. I really like hearing the nuances such as when the fretting hand releases the pressure on a note. It is as if there is a mic above the fingerboard, in a way.

I like Fulltone, but I've used only one. Since I bought that cable I have neither needed nor desired another one.

i use a vox vintage coiled cable. it's sort of heavy and takes some getting use to, but it's really tough and sounds great. it looks cool too!

I use a bullet coiled cable that weighs about 300Megatons but looks cool! And a proco regular one. I use a fender coil patch cord and I made patch cables out of the crappy cables that came with my tele and jag.

I really like Fulltone Gold cables. They sound good, are very flexible, have a lifetime warranty and are reasonably priced. I paid around $30 for a 15' cable.

I've been using these for that long as well, and they're great.

If you're talking tele, and like right-angles, make sure it fits. Mogami fits, and I like the cable very much:

+ 1. I do use the cheapest monster cable it has a lifetime warranty.I've only had to return 1,we ran over it with a dolly with steel wheels and it cut it into, walked in GC with it in 2 pieces, they handed me a brand new one off the shelf never asked what happened. Planet waves and other high end cables I'm sure have the same warranty. But the truth of the matter is,stated above, "decent cable soldered securely on a decent jack will deliver good sound, and that's true."

I Like the Planet Waves cables as well. I usually buy the ones with the circuit breaker, and they have a lifetime warranty are are relatively inexpensive. I finally switched all my cables to those and it made a VERY noticable improvemnt in sound quality.

I like the George L's pre-made cables - I have one of these and one of the skinny ones that I have had for about 5 years. Absolutely trouble free, and some claim they sound better than cheap cables. They cost more than they did when I bought mine.

I have one of the Planet Waves with the circuit breaker that I bought for $10 at one of Guitar Center's holiday sales. I like it, but it started falling apart immediately. I have to keep putting the little black ring back on it.

I have had luck with ProCo cables and Conquest Cables. I like Conquest as they seem to use good cable, Switchcraft plugs, and are very reasonably priced.

I bought 2 of these with my first band about 8 years ago... we were gigging a lot at the time so figured i'd replace the first one with the second when it wore out so i left in the paper packaging it in the back of my amp... many gigs, spilled beers, and casters rolling over, mic stands getting slammed down on it... etc, the second cable is still in the back of the amp.. i'm not sure if they sound the best, but they sure are durable.

I go for Cordial CSI6PP cable with right angled silent gold Neutrik plugs every time, costly though £45 ($90) for an 18ft
