Lake Placid Blue '62 "Thin Skin" on it's way

Well this is all fenderslash's fault for posting a pic of his '62 Lake Placid Blue Tele "Thin Skin".
I tried a friends double bound "Thin Skin" out and it was awesome. But the Lake Placid Blue really looks right for me.
That color with the plain white guard is Killer

Troy from Wildwood helped me get this one:

I have to tell you that Wildwood Guitars is a great place to deal with. They
are into getting you in the right instrument and very helpful and friendly.
I hope to do more business with them in the future.

I canceled my CS Esquire order and sold my 72' Tele Custom RI.
This guitar was just drop jaw cool in the Lake Placid Blue with white guard - I just had to have it.
Can't wait.

Beautiful guitar - and if it's anything like, sound and quality wise, the '52 thinskin Troy picked out for me, you'll love it. The man knows his guitars.

It arrived and it's beautiful in every way. Fit and finish is perfect. Neck is dead straight, Pickguard fits excellent with even reveal along body and space on either side of the bridge. I even unscrewed the neck and the neck fits the pocket real tight - no slop. This is the real deal.
Fender is the showing everyone else who the King of Telecaster builders is with this run. I can't find anything wrong with this guitar. I mean nothing.
Fret ends dressed and intonation spot on for a 3 saddle.
Hew..Wee...Got to love it!
And on top of that is plays and sounds Fantastic.
Back to the guitar

Nice guitar. Good luck with it. Do this when it arrives. Sight it down the neck and check for any twist to the fretboard. You have 48 hrs. It's pretty dry out there in Wildwood country, and I speak from experience.

I have to say every detail is spot on. The neck pocket tight (I removed the screws and checked) fret ends dressed and smoothed. Neck is dead straight with a Machinist straight edge. Pickguard reveals consistent and equal on both sides of bridge...I mean I can't find anything wrong anywhere on this one. The intonation is as good as it gets straight out of the case. Very smooth even flawless Lake Placid Blue finish. PLays excellent and sounds great.
Fender has done this one a "10".
I'm extremely pleased.

yes i will check it very closely infact i may just have my friend check it for me as he has been a guitar tech for years and he sets all my guitars up .

i have been used to 11 guage strings on all my telecasters so it will be set up with such before they send it to me .

i will keep you posted

Thanks for the advice. I played the guitar for over four hours last night.
Already an hour as soon as I got up. Neck is still dead straight but I'll keep my eyes peeled for change. I absolutely love this guitar. I will probably wire it back to standard wiring just because it will be my #1 now. To tell you the truth I'll probably play this one 99% of the time - it's that good.
Maybe I got lucky but it seems to be well received so far from other buyers.

Thanks I really am digging this Thin Skin. Probably this best purchase I've made in a long time. This one is a keeper.

Incredible!

Anyone considering a Thinskin...Consider it seriously. Still amazed at how awesome this guitar is. It is no question one of the only Teles I've ever owned that doesn't even suggest a mod. It's perfect the way it is.

I have played it to death and never get tired of it.
A friend of mine was over yesterday for a set up on his 12 string Strat and couldn't believe the tone a playabilty of the Thin Skin.

If you were considering a Thin Skin - Consider seriously again...
Great stuff from Fender.

Great stuff from Fender.
+1 - mine is awesome and I second the notion of no mods necessary. These won't be around much longer, once they're gone they're gone. These really are custom shop quality for AV prices.
