New Saddles & Strings

I'm new to playing guitar & I have a 60 Anniversary Tele Hwy 1 w/ Fender CS Texas Blues Specials (P/U). I'm looking to change the saddles w/Glendales. I like Texas Blues, Blues Rock, & Blues Tones. What do u think would be the best set of saddles to go with(Brass,SS,)? Also I have #9 D'Addario strings on right now , Do u think I should try #10? All suggestions will be greatly helpful!!!

Thanks Bill

Compensated Saddles and 10's are the ticket. Ten's give you a bigger sound and you tend not over bend the notes when you play.

I've got a compensated brass 3 barrel set on all 3 of my Highway One Teles.

Look at Callaham, Glendale, Stewart MacDonald (#5167) or Allparts for compatible saddles.

10-46 is a good place to start; you might end up with 10-52 or 11-49 strings, given your choice of music.

Your Highway One has the small button on the back of the headstock. We use the term '60th Anniversary' for the special edition guitars of that year, not production guitars like yours and mine:

for blues you might want to get some pure nickle strings, brand i cant say for you, you might want to try alot of different brands till you find the right one for you. i like 10s and 11s depends on the guitar.

Boris...is that a Highway you added vintage tuners to, or the Texas model? Have any shots of the front of the peghead?
