vintage or modern

vintage telecasters or modern telecasters. which do you prefer. i'm not talking about look wise but more on the playability and sound. playability wise i like modern telecasters because they more comfortable (headstock rod adjustment, adjustment of bridge saddles, medium frets.) but sound wise definitely vintage. what do you fellow telecaster users think?

Well, I'm building one with a vintage bridge (although the saddles are compensated), small frets but with a headstock truss rod adjustment, because I like some bits of the old ones and some bits of the new ones. Soundwise it's different again, because it will have Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack pups (after listening to the samples on their site, those are the humbuckers that preserve the most treble, and they look stock).

So my answer is - pick and choose, I don't think Fender make the perfect Tele for me.

I tend to agree - I have an '88 American Standard and a 2006 AVRI. I changed the American Standard's pickups to AVRIs once I heard them...
