TL69-92 Paisley Tele...Where to buy? Who has the best price?
I've been wanting a Pink Paisley Tele for some time, and I'm wondering what's the best place to buy one.
I know that Fender Japan frowns on dealers exporting to the US, but there are a few that will do it. Stringnet does, and also there are some Ebay sellers. The problem is, the Ebay sellers always seem to want more than the guitars are worth. Obviously, they are trying to make a profit. I bought a new CIJ (Fender Japan) Jazzmaster from Ishibashi about 4 months ago or so, and it cost a mint, due to the weak dollar. Ishibashi will no longer sell new Fenders to overseas customers, at the request of Fender Japan, so that's no longer an option. Anyone know of a good place? Used would be good, but I've not seen any lately. I just have a hard time parting with close to $1000 for a Japanese Fender. For that much, I could find a used AVRI '52 or '62 Custom, if I looked around.

Ya think? I haven't bought one since '84, but do try to keep an eye on how they move. It certainly seems to go in cycles. Few and far between right now... You may not be able to do much better than that unless you are patient and lucky. If I really wanted something that I could not find, I would start contacting some of the larger dealers and asking around. I know of one that often has stuff laying around that hasn't hit his web site. Yes, that sounds counter-intuitive, but it has worked for me. Good luck.
