Nice '52 RI Keef style Tele on ebay.

I thought this was cool, and another auction with nice pictures.

But $2349.00 for a partscaster

This guy sold two EXACTLY the same recently and he got a good price. Unbelievable!!

Have a look at these auctions:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2563393639

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2574743213

But $2349 for a partscaster?? !!! He's very open in his auction that he uses a Warmoth body and neck, and OK, the hardware and pick-ups are first class, but even if you aren't a builder yourself, you could source the parts yourself - hey, use his auction as a parts list - and get someone like Rob Di Stefano to put it together (Rob's website: http://www.rfd.cc/aa/) for a good deal less than that.

I'm just amazed that these guitars sell. Right. That's it. I'm going to do the same and see if I can make myself an easy $grand!!

Peter

I have bought stuff off of Pat before. Very professional guy and no BS. He is honest and upfront about all his guitars that he offers so don't ever feel you are going to be ripped off. On the whole, if he had everything I wanted I would buy them all from him.

The wrong bridge turns me off. But what really turns me off is the seller pushing this mongrelcaster as a Fender
About the only things really Fender on this guitar are that wrong ashtray bridge, and the wrong 70s neck! Go to Ishibashi.com to see a KR genuine FENDER Tele done right for under 600 bucks plus shipping.

Not to mention that he refers to it as a "Strat" in one place!

He uses the same format for all his Parts-o-casters. Must cut and paste the text and then re-edit, with the ocassional misses.

He does a great job of presenting the guitars. They are always fun to look at and read about. But for the most part they are over-priced.

For the price you're paying a finer attention to details could be held.

First off, The 70's Fender neck should have been 52' Reissue neck. Which would have made it more period correct as Micawber is 50's Telecaster.

Second the three brass saddles and Fender F tuners are completely incorrect. Micawber houses a six-saddle bridge as well as Sperzel tuners.

And third it could have been a Five String open G tuned guitar with the missing 6th saddle, As all of Keith's blonde Telecasters are.

World's Best Keith Richards Telecaster? No. A nice one still? Yes.
