New Edwards Telecaster - E-TE-120M/RE

Got an Edwards '52-style off of an Ebay dealer from Japan, arrived a couple of days ago. Not much info out there, so I thought I'd share some pics and what info I can give.

You can click through to find large (and XL) versions on my Flickr page.

The butterscotch/yellow is more faded in person, some grain can be seen through the finish behind the bridge.

The neck is a chunky v-shape, I was hoping for something thicker (Nocaster territory), but this is thick enough to be comfortable for me.

The finish is either nitro or nitro over poly - and goes over the reliced parts. Looks kind of cheesy up close, in all honesty, but I'm not big on relics anyway.

Heavy. A borrowed bathroom scale says ten pounds even, but that might just be the lowest it runs - but I'd say 9-10 pounds is about right.

However: very resonant. Moreso than anything I tried out in guitar shops, and the hardware all seems top notch.

The pickups are Seymour Duncan Antiquities, and I think the electronics are upgrades over standard Edwards gear as well.

Can't really tell you how it plays, but I'm enjoying my time with it so far.

Looks quite nice, seems the 'secret' of Edwards is well out now, I really want one of their black 335 copies but this isn't the forum for that talk..

Never heard much about their Teles, most people rave about their LPs though so I assume it's gonna be pretty good quality.

Nice buy man, have fun with that thing and let us know how it is after the 'honeymoon' is over!

saw those on a Tokyo trip once, known as the non brands here even though the entire country knows who makes them. They have a Keith model too.
I own an SG, 2 Les Paul types, a Les Paul jr. and 2 strats from the Edwards /Duncan series, which if I recall began 2001...the Edwards prior to the start of the Duncan series came stock with ESP P`ups, but once they added the SDs the Edwards really took off...though less so here it seems, more so outside Japan...before the SD series, Edwards were kinda regarded as low end ESPs , which they were, but with a lot less respect than they garner now. At this time used Edwards/Duncans are the best bargain I can get in Japan and I`m waiting to get my hands on a tele from the series...just for *+`&% and giggles `cause I already have a top end Seymour Duncan tele from when ESP were building his line of guitars over here. Still, those Edwards are very nice...and I`ve been reading that web shops here have been told to stop selling new ones overseas...not sure how factual that is but it`s making the rounds on line.
