I need help with my Nameless Baby
This is my first post. This website is very addicting.
Well here goes. I'm building my first tele and I need help with a name. I'll try to describe it the best I can and hopefully somebody will come up with a cool name. I'll post pictures this weekend. The body is made from ash and maple. The ash is half the thickness and the maple is the other half. Ash on top. I've purchased fender custom shop texas special pickups, fender bridge and control panel. My neck is on its way from Southern California to Kansas City. My plan is to paint it yellow in several layers then distress it. (similar to custom shop on fenders website). Any ideas for names yet? |

Hi.
So far Bananacaster or Bad Banana - but good money says someone will spot a Banoffeemaple Pie connection. Don't worry - there are some pie obsessives on the forum but it's just part of their therapy. Otherwise M*A*S*H works for me. Whatever you do don't ask if you should call it a Telecaster - dig around the forum for questions on "real" Telecasters and you'll see why. Be easier when we get the pics. Oh... welcome to the forum by the way. |

"Nameless Baby" sounds great.
Until the "Long Lost Parents and Siblings" show up, expecting to take her back home once she's all finished.

I like Ol Yeller because I loved the movie & love all dogs, but maybe it's not a dog. How about "Yellecaster"?
Heck, the sky's the limit with naming a guitar. Mine say "Telecaster" on the Headstock but I call 'em "it" or "the guitar" or "she..." or, if very formal, "the Tele". One of the more interesting aberrations I've come across was a Tele-style body with an honest to goodness early '60s Strat neck on it. The neck had been butchered up pretty good in the fitting or whatever, and the owner had lovingly placed a "Telebastard" decal on it. Quite appropriate, I guess. Have fun with it. |

Bob or Richard for a boy guitar. Annabel, Betty or Lily for a girl guitar.

Ash on my language is "Jasen" and it is pronounced fonetically (Like first two letters in: jaba daba du, and first three letters in: sentimental).
Also we have ancient word for guitar (maybe Oriental, from Turkey or Middle East), but it has the same root as 'guitar': "Đitra" or "Djitra". First letter is italian "G" like in "Giuseppe" |
