Anything down to the wood is not good (IMO). The place of the crack is not as bad as near the neck pocket but still........I wouldn't pay $500 for it. They retail new for $900.........I have seen some on the used market for $600 w/o the damage.

If your anal stay away from it......He clearly states its deep and down to the wood....It will bother you everytime you pick it up.....

Now if you want to buy it to play it...Ask for a larger pic. of the damage....probally a good deal if you can backdoor it at that price.

Most Fenders hit the street at about 60% of list price. That's $40 of the shelf price. That looks like a $100 ding to me (at least). I expect this will end without a sale. If it does, call the dealer and offer them a price you can live with and a 7 days from receipt return policy. They'll take it or they won't. If the damage is any more than cosmetic, it would probably be something that resoldering the jack or replacing with an electro-socket would fix.

um I think that's a polyester paint. it chips off in chunks when whacked. Cracks too. Looks like crap. But no matter. Sand it, start refill with CA, Sand, refill ,sand, refill....... you get the drill. If there's any wood missing, green auto body putty in a tube will suffice. Keep it off the binding. Sand and polish, mask binding, squirt with polyester black. sand, polish. It'll be less noticeable to you, and then it can carry on it's life as a real nice player for ya.
Never will bring a dime more than you pay for it and methinks, even substantially less. It'll never be mistaken for someone else's. Whacked in the music store qualifies as beginning natural relic process. Doesn't it?
I offer $400. that would be ok. $500 if ya got it to spare and really want it.
