I have used the CDE, DME-series, caps in amps for years. If you are familiar with basic tube amp tech, I describe their tone in that context as halfway between the grittiness of the Mallory 150's and the sterile, bright tone of SBE 715p's (orange drops). I'm using one in a new Tele build - but I'm troubleshooting what appears to be a switch problem right now and won't be able to offer any tonal opinions there until that is resolved.
