MIM retrofit with classic bridge?

I've decided I want a Hipshot Bender.

I may use this as an excuse to get another guitar, as I don't want to install this on my current Tele.

But what I was wondering was -- will a MIM Tele take a "classic" bridge plate?

I don't like the flat, sideless MIM plates in the first place...

Thanks,
-W-

Absolutely fits on there. I just installed a real Fender 52RI bridge plate on my new sunburst MIM Standard. No drilling or anything. Directly screws right on.

As long as it's a MIM in the last couple of years, it's a clean swap. On the older ones it isn't...

When was the last one that couldn't take a vintage bridge? Early 90s, right?

As long as the vintage bridge fits readily on the more recent MIM Telecaster bodies, I can assume that the Fender 'ashtray' bridge cover will also, right? ( I think I know the answer, but it won't hurt to hear it from someone else).

Yes, if bridge fits, ashtray fits.

I installed a vintage-style Fender bridge in my new MIM Standard and a Fender ashtray fits fine. (Got both from Angela but no doubt available all over.) A screw driver is all you need to change the bridge.
