Rosewood build begins...

So, my Warmoth Rosewood body and neck arrived this morning and I really couldn't be any happier. Man!! They are absolutely beautiful. No problems with Warmoth quality or customer service at all. In fact quite the opposite - I have nothing but praise for them.

I sat and just stared at the parts for a long while after opening the boxes. They really are gorgeous. It will need some tweaking here and there to make all the parts fit but that's to be expected. I have all my Callaham hardware and Fralin pickups ready to go in but not the time to dive right in yet, perhaps next week sometime I can spend a while getting it all together. For now though some not very good pics of what it looks like right now...

This thing is going to be a stunner!!!

Nope... It's a chambered body. It's actually very light...

That is absolutely stunning - and just in time for Christmas!

I recently put together an Esquire based on a MIM neck and body, but with all upgrades - Callaham saddles and pickguard, Tone Pros Klusons, RS Guitarworks electrics and Fralin vintage pickup. I'm thrilled with it, especially the tones from the Fralin, so I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Anyway, after seeing your neck and body, my GAS has just kicked in all over again

Best wishes,

Kevin - ex-pat scouse git in the Noo Joisey 'burbs.

Is that a "sandwiched" body - with a thin stripe of another kind of wood between two rosewood slabs?

If you wait until next week to tackle it, it will never get to my house in time for Christmas.

Not actually a sandwiched body, but it is hollow. It is hollowed out first and then another piece of rosewood is attached over the top. Unlike the Fender ones it doesn't have a thin strip of maple in between. It looks like a solid piece of rosewood. I wanted it to look very much like - but not exactly the same as the Fender one. The hardware is different too (Callaham bridge, heavy knurled knobs, Kluson tuners (not the Fender F ones) etc...) No finish on the neck. Oh, and of course no fender logo...

I REALLY want to... Unfortunately I have family staying with me for Christmas and I'm on 'host' duty... I did manage to get the ferrules in, the neck mounted (as you can see) and most of the shielding done this afternoon though!

Man oh man I'm in love!!

Funny how the walnut skunk stripe is lighter than the neck wood!

Very nice BBB!!! I have never built a Rosewood body but I have some Pommelle Bubinga that I'm holding onto till the time is right. Your guitar should be AWSOME when you get it done.
Merry Christmas
