A Couple of modern bridge questions

So I installed my modern bridge in my telecaster project and I have a couple of questions

a) two of the saddles have shorters height screws than the rest. Are these supposed to go on the E strings?

b) two of the saddles have shorter springs than the rest. Are these supposed to go on the low E, and G strings?

c) the pickup seems to sit too high(close to the strings), but when i try and screw it down lower, rather than lowering the pickup, the screws just start to stick out of the bridge. I believe I installed the rubber washers between the bridge and the pickup properly. I dont think I am trying to lower the bridge too much(it sticks out of the bridge between 1/8 and 1/4 of an inch. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

...On (a) yes!!

...On (b) yes except fer the G string part, it should be the A string.

...On (c) I never use tubing or rubber I alwayz use springs fer the reason yew typed about. If yew push down on the screw heads yew mite be able tew push the P/U down as long as the screws are backed off. The rubber/tubing will hang up on the screw inside and/or not haff enuff strength tew over ride the weight of the P/U.
