Help!!! pickguard screws popping

anyone ever have this problem? i suspect that they, or the pickguard itself, have somehow become electrically charged, but i don't know how to fix it. do i need to ground something? do i need to replace the pickguard? do i need to replace the screws? it's really annoying. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i mean that they make a popping sound when i touch them with my finger. i also noticed that my pickguard also makes a "static-like" sound when i rub my finger over it. it's just loud enough to be heard through my playing. kind of ruins the fun of playing. any thoughts?

didn't that have to do with static electricity in the pickguard?

Either shield the underside of your pickgaurd (grounding your shielding) or use a less static prone pickgaurd.

The larger the pickgaurd's area (Strat) and the cheaper the plastic, the more static you'll get.

The static will get sucked out through ground.

I had only one Telecaster with this problem ever. It was a Lite Ash Tele with a ghetto-cheap plastic pickgaurd and shielding cured the problem 100%...

On the other hand, I've had this problem with nearly half of my Strats. Yet another reason I HATE Strats and have sold them all off :)
