Did you use this in your wiring harness?

I was checking out some upgrade wiring harness components and came across this from RC Guitarworks:

The part circled in red is not listed in the kit but shows in their picture for the Tele Kit??? Interesting.

What is it? A .001 treble bypass? Some other Value?
Does anyone find this of value in their wiring harness?
Does anyone know if there is an extra charge for it?

Thanks for that diagram link aunchaki,

As far as RC Guitarworks kit - I wondering if they are using that same
.001mf cap or some other close value due to their extensive research..

The small cap looks like the same Mallory .001uf cap that Hoffman Amps sells to me.

I usually end up putting a small cap in the vol pot, as per the stewmac diagram, in my project builds. My PRS has one too. It's there to help limit/reduce the treble cut when you back off the volume.

I just installed one of those kits in my tele. It's a .001 Hovland (cap or resistor?), wired as in the StuMac diagram. There is no noticable drop in treble as you turn down the volume. I think the reason they are not listed, is that they are out of stock of that part until about the end of this month. When I ordered my kit, they also had them available as a loose part, but shortly thereafter it disappeared from the website. I emailed them to inquire why it was no longer listed, and they replied that they were out of stock. I must have gotten one of the last ones.

I paid five dollars more than the current price for the premium upgrade kit with superpots, so I assume that reflects the lack of the smaller cap. If I recall, however, the cap was listed at about $15 on it's own. You definitely save on the kits.

Dan
