Nasal tone-HELP!!!
When I play in a confined venue my tone is great. But I play outside at church events and when I do my amp gets very nasal sounding. Any suggestions!?!?

Cody, I'm having a difficult time imagining exactly what effect you're hearing.
Is it at all like the "nasal" sound we get when a pickup is wired out of phase with another? Have you got the amp EQ'd differently? |

I feel like I know what you mean but I'm not sure how to explain it either. Myself and some of my friends have this issue. I can sit at home and play any of my teles (which I have more of than strats) and get great tone out of any of them. If I go out to play at church or something though I can never get the right tone with a tele. I find myself more often taking a strat out to play. It seems my teles cranked up produce more of a midrange tone that I can't seem to eq out of any of my amps. I've found a compressor helps as well as a boss EQ pedal.
