Well I don't really know about them. I have had Tonerider Strat pups and they were VERY nice, tone and construction quality.

With the A III's and that wind I would think they are kick a$#.... pretty hot....oh ya that's what they call them.

Have you listened to the sound samples ????

I really am surprised you haven't had any other posts ??

I love em and so do a lot of other people on here .They bear a good comparison with Keystones .Arlo West did full review on here comparing them and liked them, check it out in a search which may be quicker than waiting for everyone to put their Tele down and start reading .I am sure you will get similar answers in the end and probably a couple that say they suck
Cant think of any better for that price and spec point.Doubtless Booteeks are a bit better, well maybe, but you will get a great tone from them . .They are not the same as CV pickups ,different spec and classier .

I've got some Tonerider City Limits in a Strat and some Vintage Plus in my Tele and both sound fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone

I had Tonerider Hot Classics in my MIJ '62 Tele and was very impressed. The bridge was perhaps a tad too hot for my taste, real fat and gutsy with gain, but sounded great and still had some clean twang... you really do need to experiment with height adjustment to get the best out of them.

I don't think they can be beat at the price... and they smoke many costing a lot more.

I've used them, and I'm hugely impressed. Although I did have trouble finding screws to fit the bridge pickup.

Got the chance at last to finally play the guitar , very impressed with the pickups , very clean and bright , i thought the bridge might be to hot but have managed to balance it with the neck by screwing it down more , for £60 and made in China very good value .

I had a set, was given a set of Keystones, sold my Toneriders (for more than I paid for them ) and regret that day ever since.

I've sold the Keystones (the Keystones in my Strat are awesome!) and used a set of EMGs but I do miss the tobe of the Toneriders.

I too had to play around with the pick up heights but dialed in a great tone.

Thanks for reminding me of that very painful moment in my life. The day I sold my Toneriders.

Peter

Best Tele bridge p/u I've EVER used (TRT 1).Sound is remarkable. I'm now in the process of putting them in all 4 of my teles (when money allows).

Played my friend's tele the other day with toneriders in it. Was quite impressed with them, esp for price / build quality.

Just ordered some Bare Knuckle "Piledrivers" for my '84 MIJ though. I'm a sucker for BKPs.

My wallet hates me for it though :sigh:

not familiar with those pups, but tonerider do make good pickups.

however, you really should have posted your question in the pickups forum.

I use the other ones who's name escapes me right now (vintage something?) but yeah well impressed with them.have to say I thought they fitted an alder body better than ash but that was just me.
i think they're actually korean not chinese?
i'm big into their rebel 90's too.might try a strat set one day too.for the $100bucks a set here i'd be giving them a look see.

I do not agree with people who place them on the same scale as GFS/Artec pickups though and encourage anyone to look into them on their merits not price tag.

I put a a Tonerider Hot Classic in the bridge position of my partscaster.
I think it is very hot, and benefits from being lowered. It is very spanky and crisp, I like it.
Don't assume because nobody replies that they don't like something!

I think Hot Classics are by far the best budget choice. I don't find they are hot at all. Just right. The A3 Surfari Strat set is also really, really good.

I have the Vintage Plus pups, I opted for those because I think there's a little more balance between the neck and bridge in terms of output from the demos I listened to online. I use the switch a lot and I'm on the bridge least often, and because they're RWRP the parallel position is hum-canceling. From what I understand, the Hot Classics aren't necessarily super 'hot' per se, but are stronger/different the way they're voiced.

That said, Fender OVs are pretty sweet too. Keystones are brighter IMO than either OVs or Toneriders, but that's what that twiddly knob is thar for. I have a set of each, I like them all.

I have Tonerider Rock Song humbuckers.

What do I think?

They're bloody good.

Ignore their price, they're not "budget" quality.
I've just ordered some Tonerider bass pickups for a P/J project.
