Mini humbucker bridge mount questions..Never mind.

I'm doing a makeover on my partscaster. Presently it has an SD Vintage mini bucker in the neck and a single coil bridge. I'm planning on replacing the bridge pup with another SD mini bucker. I'm trying to decide on wether to use a hardtail Strat bridge or adapting the mini bucker to a modern style full Tele bridge with a full humbucker cut-out.

Two guestions:

1) Do the string holes on a vintage style Strat hardtail bridge line up with the holes the same as a vintage style Tele bridge?

2) I have a chrome trim ring for the mini-bucker. If I use a full humbucker bridge, can any of you measure the distance between the pick up screw holes on your 'bucker bridge? I'd like to see if the pick up screw holes on my mini ring match up to the humbucker bridge screw holes. If so, I just might use the mini trim ring on top of a full humbucker cut out.

Thanks

Tom

I disassembled the partscaster today. I wanted to use an SD mini-hum for the the bridge with a hard tail Strat bridge and a trim ring for the pick up. But the single coil bridge rout can't be covered without filling an ugly gap with strips of wood and putty. I want to leave my options open for a refinish and a repair (which is do-able) but it won't look good if I go with a trans color. So a mini hum trim ring adapted to fit on top of a full humbucker bridge is the only realistic way to go. Even though the pick up screws on the trim ring won't align to the holes on the full bucker bridge, I figured out a way to make it work anyway.

This partscaster is donating it's vintage Wilkenson bridge, SD Vintage '54 p'up, a gorgeous (but hidden) Acme 250K control assembly, and neck to another partcaster project. I also have a matching SD '54 neck pup for next Tele which will more traditional.

This makeover is getting a pair of SD mini's and a Rothstein 500K reversed control assemby with a simple 3 way switch. The color is yet to be determined.

Here's the victim...I was never crazy about the way the nitro finish turned out. I was originally going for a trans blond finish but it turned out too much like trans desert sand...never liked that color on the Baja's. If it looked as nice in real life as it does here, I'd leave it alone. Pictures are deceiving. It might get an acetone bath tonite.

Thought about that SD p'up but the wiring diagram calls for 250K pots. I just got a pre-wired 500K control assembly and I don't want it to go to waste. The SD wiring diagram for a pair of Vintage mini humbuckers calls for 500K pots so I hope I'm on the right track.

It's my understanding that 500K pots for a single coil set up will make the pickups too shrill.

Now I have a matched set of SD Vintage '54 single coils waiting for my next ride.

Thanks
