4 Way with a toggle to put bridge strait thru to the jack

I am building a Tele and have purchased a fully assembled 4 Way control. I have not yet fitted it.

None of the 4 ways available cut out the tone pot.

With the 4 Way Controls can I fit a toggle to put bridge strait thru to the jack?

I like my Esquire on the setting that has no tone pot involved. I use a Eq on the floor. In that Esquire the vol pot is in the circuit.

Now re the new Tele, is it feasible to fit a toggle in the lead from the bridge and wire direct into the output section, cutting out tone and volume (actually the whole control assembly)?

Is a bridge pup turned down by a vol pot or turned up by a vol pot? IOW, what output vol is that signal if you don't put it thru any pot until the amp?

you could put a push/pull tone pot in to bypass.

• green wire- to the middle vol. terminal

• yellow wire - bridge pickup hot lead (+)

• purple - to the 4 way switch

When you pull the tone knob up, the bridge signal will go right to the jack.

I use a no load tone pot for that option which I understand takes the tone pot out of circuit when engaged.

A very audible difference when the detent clicks into no load. Standard Fender part with no special wiring required.

Thx for those options. I have ended up ordering a no load pot from mojotone (has a solid shaft) (they only sell the push/pull with a split shaft). So whichever pup combo I select it will go straight thru to the jack. Ordered a 4 way switch type there too. I'm gonna make a clone of that 4 way assembly I got while its out on the desk and use it on the next Tele. That assembly will use a paper in oil cap I ordered from Jonesy.

The p/p pot in the pic I had there will work ( spline shaft) as I have used them several times with Tele knobs. The set screw will jam into the cut area right under the splines or into that spine on some maybe. I have had ZERO loosen up on me.

You have a No load tone pot which will open it up A TAD, but you will still have the volume pot load with that set up.

www.guitarpartsresource.com sells a solid shaft push/pull in 250k and 500k.

They are both linear tapers. You could also use brass bushings with the split shafts. I see those in quite a few online stores.
