flush string ferrules vs. non recessed
Maybe a dumb question, but is there any reason why Fender went away from making the string ferrules flush to the back of the body, as they used to do in the old days? My CV 50 has them... I think they add a lot of class to a tele...

So why does the Baja (ash) have recessed and the AmSer (alder) not?
Imo recessed ferrule look more professionally finished, and would have expected the AmSer to be recessed. It's a simple enough process and could have been done with one drill at the factory. The ferrules on the AmSer do tend to fall out when changing strings.
