Any info on CRL 1454 single patent number?

After searching quite a while (getting weary of the results) trying to date a CRL 1454 3-way switch with brown phenolic/linen terminal carrier, I have stopped looking. Now I'm just going to ask if anyone else has a clue on dating this one. The single patent number on it is PAT NO. 2503885.

I'm making a leaping assumption that it's relatively recent, probably the version just prior to the current switch with fiberglass terminal carrier.

I see some insanely expensive vintage switches with two and three patent numbers, but to me a 3-way is a 3-way.

I suppose there might be some secret information I've missed, but that's why forums exist, right? Secret handshakes and coded messages...
