Squier Make Over: Tele Bridge to fit over humbucker hole.
Hi! Got an Obey Squier that i would want to convert to a classic tele Setup.
From this: ![]() to This: ![]() My Main problem is the cut for the humbucker on the bridge pickup may not be covered by your standard tele bridge. Got any suggestions where to find a tele bridge that is more than or equal to 86mm wide so as to cover up the humbucker routs? TIA! |

I doubt it. A standard Tele bridge made for a single coil will never cover that gap. You could get a Tele bridge made for a humbucker and go for a humbucker-sized-P90 instead. Maybe try a pickup like that first using the existing pickup ring to see how it sounds?
Alternatively, you are into various options such as making a pickguard to cover the gaps. Usually you would fill the gaps with little wooden blocks and filler at the side of the bridge and re-finish the area but that won't be possible due to your guitar's complicated graphics. FWIW I would leave it as it is and have fun saving for a second Tele with more traditional looks and pickups. |
