1 Humbucker and 4 Way Switch - Possible?
Hi,
I have a Tele with one humbucker (4 wire) in the bridge. I would like to know if it would be possible to put a 4 way switch in and do some sort of cool wiring trick. Maybe a split/parallel/series thing or something? Any ideas? |

Ive done a 5 way switch with 2 single coil sized humbuckers so it had humbucker sound but was also coil tapped for the classic tele sound. Pretty cool sounds. What you could do is use a 4 way and have the pickup in series, then parallel, then coil one tapped and then the second coil tapped. I also know the avril lavine tele runs one humbucker with a 3 way so it has normal humbucking mode then has each coil tapped.

Here's my untested drawing. I used Seymour Duncan colors.

I was thinking the same thing, as I am planning for my first build. I was thinking something along the lines of this:
