tele body for this neck
I just took apart this guitar I gave $30.00 for just so I could fix a squier and have a usb recording interface, the neck is 2 3/16's wide and has a square heel like a tele, and there may be enough headstock to trim it down to a tele shape, do the GFS lightweight tele bodies sound like a tele, I will trim the 22nd fret off if interferes with the neck pu,

a pic would help guys to figure out what is best .... take it with a ruler next to the neck and along the heel..... this will help the question being well answered as you have a specific neck that you are trying to find a body for.....
if it's 2 3/16, that corresponds with a fender type neck.... both the tele and strat have that measurement, as well as others by the same company..... will it be a perfect fit at the pocket for that neck?, that remains to be seen..... as far as the GFS bodies, there is a lot of info on this site regarding their products - some are glowing, other less than that as far as a body sounding like a tele, it is more a combination of the bridge and pickups than the shape..... you can get a very tele sound out of different types of wood, and different shapes (and if you don't think so, look at the challenge build that is a tele/mosrite combo) take your time, and make an educated choice for yourself as opposed to relying solely on advice from the interweb..... i am NOT knocking the question, just asking you to decide as to what YOU want |

Sure looks like it would work. You shouldn't have to trim the 22nd fret, but you might need to use a single-ply pickguard depending on how low the overhang is. This one has a 22-fret neck:
