'72 Telecaster Thinline Reissue Low E String Problem
Hey guys,
I have a '72 Telecaster Thinline Reissue and the Low E strings is awfully close to the edge of the neck, to the point where it will slip off if I'm not careful. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix this. It looks like a bridge problem, thanks for any help. |

Welcome!
Combination of 2 issues: 1) The Hardtail Strat bridge is 2 + 7/32nds inches string array; the widest of all Teles; 2) This particular guitar's neck is not perfectly aligned and needs to come back a little. Check out the thread by TDPRI member "carzee" about neck adjustment under tension. Don't go too far though. I'd rather a fat E string close to falling off than the treble E string. Some other solutions include a narrower string array at the nut (new cut) and/or a neck with less roll to the board and/or fret edges. Or a Custom bridge with a slightly narrower string array. Check out Dale Clark's 3 barrel plate and saddles for hardtail Strat http://www.glendaleguitars.com/trem%20blocks.htm. Or check with Marc Rutters. |
