Next replace
I've a 2002 Squier Standard Tele and had the same problem/idea as you. My solution was a TMSTD tele neck from WD Music sales : http://wdmusicproducts.com
It's a maple neck, 12" radius, 22 fret neck that I really enjoy playing/learning on. I put a TMVSTD from the same company on a Squier Fat Tele and I like that one too, though I believe the radius is a 9.5, not 12. Good products, good folks to deal with, and not a major hit in the wallet, which is why I went for a Squier in the first place :) Mike Ferero |

It's *really* wider. The original rosewood Squier neck was narrow, and thin. The WD is definitely wider. Measure the width of the neck at the nut, it will be less than what the specs on the Squier site say.
