Nitro and Poly/Nylon fabric question

I want to replace the lining in an old case. The fabric I want to use is Polyester and Nylon. i was wondering if this would react badly to a Nitro finish? I know Nitro reacts to certain foam on guitar stands or hangers, not sure what other materials might be bad.

thanks!

It is very possible.

I had a case melt a guitar finished in DEFT not to long ago. I am pretty sure that plush stuff was polyester/nylon mix.

re case lining material

I am not sure what the velour that is used in most guitar cases is made out of, I've seen material that is made of polyester, some of the crushed velvet is a polyester / rayon blend or nylon

I have done auto upholstery for over 25 years, and some of the automotive crushed velvet is 100% nylon

I don't see why any of these would react with a guitar finish, unless it had something to do with the dye used to color the fabric. And that doesn't seem too likely either.

I have seen guitars that had a reaction with leather straps left in the case, my buddy had a white Musicman guitar that he put in the case with a black strap and the dye from the strap transfered into the guitar finish. I doubt that the finish was nitro , this was a Musicman Sabre, I'm sure it was some type of poly finish.

The rubber used on guitar stands is something entirely different than nylon, polyester etc...

Are you sure that your guitar has a nitro finish? most guitars these days have a tough poly finish.

The neck I got for it is Nitro-might as well redo the body.

Thanks, I appreciate all responses to this arcane question!
