t-riffic mod

Hi all,
I am new to this fourm and I recently picked up a 2002 mex standard telecaster out of the newspaper for $225. I am now thinking about shielding it and doing the t-riffic modifacation on it. Has anyone done this mod and is it worthwhile? ~Steve

I did the deaf-eddie inspired 5 way switching using a ste-mac super switch. Been a long time since I visited the guitar nuts site, but I would imagine the diagrams are pretty similar in what they do. With eddies diagram you get the standard three tele tones plus both pups in series and both pups in series out of phase. As far as it being a worthwile mod....only you can decide that. You may love it or you may think it's a waste of time...but you will never know till you try!

Another easy and less expensive mod to consider is Bill Lawrences 1/2 out of phase diagram that uses a stock strat style 5 way switch. Editorjuno on this board posted a diagram last year. I wired a freinds tele with it and he loves it.

The thing to remember is these mods are easily reversed if you don't care for the tones. Congrats on your tele and good luck with the project. Please let us know how it turns out.
