Guitar, Microphone, and only 1 Amp - How to Connect Them?
So, if you're on a very tight budget how would you go about connecting a guitar and a microphone to an amp? As I look around at gear I see mic preamps, mixers, etc. If I could also plug a headphone into it that'd be great.
I get lost pretty quick looking at all of that stuff. I can't buy another amp so what kind of options might I have? BTW, I have a 2005 MIM Tele and a Fender Super Champ XD. I'm not sure what the mic is but it has a 1/4" plug on the end of it. Thanks for any ideas!

wow, guitar and vocal through one amp is gonna cheat both pretty badly ... reminds me of the bad old days when i plugged a hi-Z mike into the second channel of my Bandmaster and tried to jam and play crude gigs. the truth is, they both need drastically different amplification processes ... what kind of amp do you have on hand now?

If you have a stereo system, you could think about getting a little mixer. Plug the microphone into the mixer. Also run a cord from the line output of your amp into the mixer. Then run the mixer output into your stereo system. I'm not sure that will do what you're trying to do, but it should work...

go to pawn shop, i can find $10 amps almost any day of the week, but if not radio shack mixer to stereo is way to go...about $20 for a 4 channel if I remember properly...and you can use that mixer for allsorts of stuff down the road...
