Standard Mim routings..? just curious....

Was reading the 'I need a new body' post and it seems like many of you have knowledge about the current MIM teles...

At any rate, I've filled my MIM tele's routing marks (so I can ditch the PG). And I've been wondering why they are there to begin with.

There were 4 routes to be filled:

1) the 'finger' to the control cavity
2) 3 x quarter/nickel sized holes, about 1/2" deep...

Obviously the 'finger' is probably for ease of wiring installation. Anyone know what the others were for? Balance, or 'tone' or just plain ol' mistakes?

Just curious...

Those holes...

I believe those are holes for the CNC machine to sit in while it's doing routing.
